Three Engagements. One Purpose.
Each engagement is designed to produce a written output your organisation can act on — whether that is a direction statement, a capability note, or a standing advisory relationship built around your quarterly rhythm.
How Every Engagement Works
All Compass Loom engagements are built around the same underlying practice: structured conversation, careful synthesis, written output. The form of the engagement changes depending on the question — a direction statement, a capability note, or a quarterly review cycle — but the working method is consistent.
We begin by agreeing scope in writing: what the engagement covers, what it will produce, and when it ends. Every significant document we produce goes through two structured rounds of comment before it is finalised. Work is completed by the practitioner assigned to the engagement; we do not sub-contract writing or pass engagements between staff without notice.
Scope agreement
We confirm the question, the deliverables, and the timeline in writing before any work begins.
Structured interviews
We interview the relevant people using a consistent structure and return notes for accuracy check.
First draft
We write a first draft of the deliverable and circulate it for structured comment.
Two-round review
Two rounds of comment, two revisions. The document is finalised and transferred to the client.
Strategic Direction Drafting
RM 2,790 per engagementA multi-week engagement that produces a clear written direction statement for a small or mid-sized organisation. We interview each member of the leadership group, review recent operating documents, and write a draft direction statement that is shaped through two structured rounds of comment.
The output is a written direction statement, a short narrative companion document, and a one-page summary suited to the board. All three documents are the property of the client organisation on completion.
- Individual interviews with each leadership group member
- Review of recent operating and governance documents
- Written direction statement, narrative companion, board summary
- Two structured rounds of comment and revision
- Typical duration: 4–6 weeks
Capability Investment Note
RM 980 per engagementA focused short engagement that produces a written investment note on a single capability question — such as where to invest the next year of capability building. We conduct structured interviews, review existing operating documents, and write a short note with a recommended direction and the underlying reasoning.
The deliverable includes a one-page summary and a longer working note for internal use. The scope is deliberately narrow: one capability question, one set of recommendations, one document.
- Single capability question, clearly scoped
- Structured interviews and document review
- Working note with reasoning, one-page summary
- Suitable for single departments or whole organisations
- Typical duration: 2–3 weeks
Quarterly Strategic Companion
RM 1,490 / month — subscriptionA subscription-style accompaniment to the strategic review cycle of a small or mid-sized organisation. Across the year, we prepare a structured pack for each quarterly review, facilitate a half-day operating conversation, and write up agreed actions.
Between sessions, we are available for two consulting hours each month for short questions and document review. The subscription runs quarterly and may be renewed or ended at the close of any quarter with four weeks' notice.
- Structured pack prepared for each quarterly review
- Half-day facilitated operating conversation each quarter
- Written action record within five working days
- Two advisory consulting hours per month between sessions
- Renewable quarterly, four weeks' notice to end

Across All Engagements
Confidentiality
All materials shared during an engagement are held in confidence. We do not discuss client work externally or retain documents beyond the engagement period without explicit agreement.
Scope Discipline
Each engagement begins with a written scope agreement. Additional work outside that scope is separately discussed and quoted. We do not expand engagements without your knowledge.
Independence
We hold no commercial arrangements with technology vendors, recruiters, or other service providers. Recommendations reflect the client's context, not third-party commercial interests.
Data Protection
We handle personal data in accordance with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010. Interview notes and engagement documents are stored securely and deleted at the client's request.
Senior Practitioner Commitment
The senior practitioner assigned to your engagement is the person who conducts interviews and writes the deliverable. Work is not sub-contracted or passed to junior staff without notice.
Transparent Pricing
All engagements are priced at a fixed fee agreed before work begins. There are no hourly top-ups, expenses, or additions without a separate, agreed variation.
